NFL Draft 2011: Can Cam Newton be the face of the Bengals?
What else could you possibly expect from the Bengals? A team that constantly takes on players with character issues, it almost seems like destiny that Newton should take over under center as the next franchise quarterback.
Perhaps the most hyped prospect of all-time for his actions off the field, Newton silenced a lot of critics with his impressive play down the stretch of the season that culminated in a National Championship for his team. Additionally, Newton's blazing 40-time at the combine (4.59) should certainly help to dispel any notions that his impressive size wouldn't allow him to escape defenders at the next level.
Originally thought to be a borderline top ten pick, Newton has really gained steam as a top five selection as we approach draft day. With Carson Palmer forcing his way out of Cincy after demanding a trade earlier this offseason, the Bengals would be hard-pressed not to take the Auburn product....
