The NFC East race had the potential to be a key provider of drama through Week 17 of this season. Thanks to a massive performance from quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Washington Redskins ended the suspense a week early.
Other than his truly baffling decision to take a knee in the red zone just before halftime, Cousins played arguably the best game of his career on Saturday of Week 16, throwing for 365 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-24 win over the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. Two of those scoring throws went to tight end Jordan Reed, who finished with 129 receiving yards. The victory clinched the NFC East crown for the Redskins.
Some might see Cousins' performance as a bit of a holiday miracle, as he put up monster stats on the road for the first time all season. Coming into the game, the 27-year-old quarterback sported a 74.6 QB rating in away games this season, tossing a mere six touchdowns against nine interceptions.
