The 6-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still alive in the race to make the NFC playoffs, but they probably need to win out to have a serious shot. That three-game run could start Thursday night when the Bucs go to the Show Me State to take on the 5-8 St. Louis Rams.  
After a disappointing 24-17 loss at home against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14, the Bucs are looking to bounce back. Head coach Lovie Smith spoke to the media on Monday morning, per Scott Smith of the team's official website. The coach said, "Sometimes you think you're ready, and it turns out you're not."
For just the second time all season, the Bucs didn't force a turnover. That's always been a key statistic for teams Smith has coached. Undoubtedly, they will be looking to get back to securing takeaways against the Rams.
