Philadelphia Eagles Trade Charles Scott To Arizona For Rookie Cornerback

It's not exactly a surprise to see Charles Scott on a different roster, but to see him get there via trade was certainly not expected.

The big, bullish fullback/running back did not fit Andy Reid's system. He tried as hard as he could to show that he could be an option out of the backfield and even split out and run some patterns, but it just was never enough to have Reid convinced.

The move to fullback spelled the end for Scott one way or another since keeping him around as a short-yardage back was never truly an option with Leonard Weaver more than capable of filling that role and some.

In exchange, the Eagles received rookie cornerback Jorrick Calvin. At this point, I don't know a whole lot about Calvin, so I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some film of the Arizona Cardinals' preseason games. Once I get my hands on some, I'll make sure to watch Calvin and formulate an opinion, but odds are he doesn't make the final roster.
