The 1-3 Philadelphia Eagles resume their storied rivalry with the 0-4 New York Giants on Sunday, although you might say it lacks the big-game feel of many past encounters. The last time these two franchises met when each was below .500 was in 2007.
It may not resemble a classic battle for NFC East supremacy, but it’s a huge game for both squads nonetheless. With a win and a Dallas loss, the Eagles could amazingly move into control of first place in the division. With a loss, the Giants seemingly risk a locker room revolt.
Since creating a lot of buzz in the season opener, the Birds are losers of three straight under Chip Kelly, and the bandwagon emptied as quickly as it filled up. Meanwhile, the G-men look increasingly like a team in decay as injuries take their toll on both sides of the ball.
