Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall Reportedly Breaks His Arm

August 27, 2010   ·     ·   Jump to comments

Just when the Pittsburgh Steelers' running game was seemingly on the rise, they suffered an abrupt setback today.  Starting running back Rashard Mendenhall has reportedly broke his arm.
Full details of his injury have not yet been released, and the Steelers have yet to confirm the story. However, insider sources say that Mendenhall injured his arm, and in all likelihood will miss significant time as a result.
Potentially losing Mendenhall could hurt the Steelers in an exponential way this season.
Mendenhall is without a doubt the only true feature back caliber player on the roster. His injury will only be compounded by the tremendous need the Steelers have to run the football in the absence of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
If Mendenhall is forced to miss substantial time, filling the void is likely to be a combination of third down back Mwelde Moore and training camp wonder Isaac Redman.
More to come as information becomes available.
