Plaxico Burress Is a No-Brainer For The New York Giants

Before I begin spewing about Plaxico Burress' potential reunion with the Giants, let me start with a bit of a disclaimer:
I am not, in any way, shape or form defending Burress' actions that sent him to jail. He broke the law, plain and simple.
With that being said, why wouldn't Giants' fans be ecstatic about Burress's possible return?
Let's tackle the most obvious reason: he endangered himself and others by carrying an unlicensed handgun into a club, resulting in jail time and a tremendous loss for the Giants.
I don't know about you guys, but I can deal with that charge.
Players all around the league have bodyguards and carry concealed weapons around for protection.
In addition, even though Burress did not have a New York permit for the gun (where the incident took place), it was registered in Florida, which attests to the fact that it was for protection purposes.
