Raheem Morris on Buccaneers’ Gerald McCoy: “The Sacks Will Come”

In Gerald McCoy’s first three NFL games, he has recorded just five tackles and no sacks—hardly the immediate impact the Buccaneers were looking for when they drafted McCoy third overall in the 2010 draft.

Head coach Raheem Morris, however, is not concerned.

“The sacks will come,” said Morris. “He’s just got to continue to rush, and the sacks are going to have to come with that group effort.”

The Buccaneers enter the bye week with plenty to work on after a 38-13 home loss to the Steelers. Sitting at 2-1, a place not many figured they’d be heading into Week 4, the Buccaneers will need the extra practice time to coach up young players like McCoy.
