Raiders, Chargers Stadium Proposal Sends Message to Respective Cities

If there was still any lingering doubt about the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers' sincerity about pursuing a future in Los Angeles, the teams put an emphatic end to that on Thursday night.
In a joint statement, the AFC West rivals revealed a proposal to build and share a $1.7 billion stadium in Carson, California. Here's a glimpse of what the new stadium would look like, via the Los Angeles Times' Shelby Grad:

To be clear, this is just the first step in a very long process. There will be many, many more twists and turns to this story, and a proposal is just that. It's not a plan. The teams admit they are still working in their own cities to find a solution, so it's probably a little too early to break out that Los Angeles Raiders snapback just yet.
But this is a deafening message to Oakland and San Diego: Figure something out or lose your teams to Los Angeles.
