Ravens Acquire Former Maryland DB Josh Wilson

The Baltimore Ravens have acquired fourth-year defensive back Josh Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a conditional 2011 draft pick.
As a former second-round pick of the 2007 NFL Draft, Wilson brings the versatility to play cornerback and/or return kicks. Listed at 5’9", 192 pounds, Wilson has played in 40 career games (24 starts), posted 124 tackles, and picked off six passes (three of which were returned for touchdowns). As a returner, Wilson has returned 94 kickoffs for 2,350 yards (25.0 avg.) and one touchdown.
“Josh is someone who has started a lot of games for a young player, plus he has been a good special teams player both as a kick returner and in coverages,” said team general manager Ozzie Newsome. “He adds depth to our secondary and will help us. Pending his physical, we expect Josh to be taking snaps against the Jets on opening night.”
