Reggie Bush Cleared to Practice, Likely to Play Sunday as Saints Host Steelers

New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush will return to practice this week to test his leg, broken in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Bush has been cleared to play and could return as soon as Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Saints’ running game has struggled in Bush’s absence, even more so after Pierre Thomas went down with an ankle injury.
Despite signing Julius Jones and Ladell Betts as well as getting some production from rookie Chris Ivory, consistency has been lacking. After a Week 7 loss to the lowly Cleveland Browns, the offense could use a spark.

Meanwhile, Drew Brees has struggled at times without Bush as a safety blanket underneath. After throwing four picks against the Browns on Sunday, Brees is now averaging two interceptions per game since Bush’s injury and is on pace to surpass his career high of 18 picks in 2007.
