San Francisco 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock was signed to a four-year contract extension on Friday.
The team's official Twitter account reported the news, noting that the new deal runs through the 2017 season:
Brock was an undrafted free agent who signed with San Francisco in 2010 out of Belhaven College, but he stuck on the roster and has since made himself a fixture for the Niners' vaunted defense in the secondary.
According to the 49ers' website, general manager Trent Baalke shared some kind words regarding Brock's ascent into a productive player after having zero NFL teams give him a shot on draft day:
Tramaine is a great example of what hard work and dedication can lead to.
