San Francisco 49ers vs. New England Patriots Preview and Predictions

December 11, 2012   ·     ·   Jump to comments

A possible Super Bowl preview on Monday Night Football? Yes please.
In what promises to be a fantastic game, the 49ers travel east to face a red-hot Patriots team. You can expect a great chess match between Bill Belichick and Jim Harbaugh, as well as a big helping of physical play. While the 49ers are undoubtedly the more physical team, the Patriots' speed is an intriguing counterpoint that should serve as an effective counter-punch.
Tom Brady will most likely have to go to a lot of three-step drops to counter the pass rush of Aldon and Justin Smith. On the other side of the ball, there's no doubt that Frank Gore will be running off-tackle, because running at Vince Wilfork has been a terrible idea for any team this year.
In the video above, we look at these and a few other matchups that we think will be important and give our predictions for the game. Let us know in the comments below who you're picking and why and whether you agree or disagree.
