Santonio Holmes Gone from Pittsburgh: What Was His Value?

There was a growing sentiment around the Steelers community that Santonio Holmes was on his way out of Pittsburgh. I was starting to see a bunch of articles on here about what Holmes’ worth was and the pros and cons of both keeping him and getting rid of him.
I was up and down with my own opinion of the situation.
On the one hand, Santonio is an electric player with blazing speed. Over the years he has improved both his route running and his hands, and looked to have turned the corner with his great postseason which culminated with his Super Bowl MVP Award.
On the other hand, Santonio has had annoying off the field problems and has always been prone to drops in his career, which showed up again early last season in games against Cincinnati and Chicago.
