Santonio Holmes Video: The New York Jets needed to be at their best to take down the all-powerful New England Patriots on Sunday. It seems that they also needed some magic as well. Santonio Holmes had one of the best receptions of these 2011 playoffs so far. The play helped net the Jets a commanding lead in the second half.
The play came in the fourth quarter of a tight-knit game. The Jets were up by a mere field goal and were assured of a Patriots emerging drive on the next possession. That is when Mark Sanchez found Santonio Holmes on the corner of the end zone.
The Jets receiver managed to haul in the threaded pass and keep a knee and foot in play for the reception. The catch signaled a renewed Jets team that did not waiver in the face of the Patriots home crowd. The touchdown gave the Jets a comfortable 21-11 lead. It proved crucial when the Patriots scored a late touchdown that would have tied the game.
