Seattle Seahawks Sign Tight End Anthony McCoy

The Seahawks announced today that they have signed sixth-round draft pick Anthony McCoy to a four-year, $1.895 million contract. McCoy is the first of the Hawks’ nine picks from this years draft to sign a contract.
He’ll compete right away for the No. 3 tight end spot behind John Carlson and newly acquired veteran Chris Baker.
McCoy will be battling Cameron Morrah who was one of the Hawks’ seventh-rounders last year, as well as this year’s seventh rounder out of Kent State, Jameson Konz.
Viewed by many scouts as the best blocking tight end in this years draft, McCoy also made some big plays in the passing  game while at USC.  He was originally projected to be taken somewhere between the third and fourth rounds, however, his stock slipped after he reportedly tested positive for marijuana at the combine.
McCoy can stretch the field, has big, soft hands, catches the ball away from his body and shows decent route-running ability....
