Stevie Brown Cut by Giants: Latest Comments and Reaction

Stevie Brown's return to the New York Giants did not last long, with the team parting ways with the veteran defensive back Monday.
Brown was made available late in the preseason after the Houston Texans, who signed him in May, released him. The five-year veteran previously played for the Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts and the Giants. New York agreed to terms with Brown back on Aug. 31.
Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com provided details of why the Texans decided to release him:
It was a strategy that seemed to work well for Brown, with the Giants seeking depth in the secondary. New York lost four defensive backs in one preseason game against Cincinnati, with safety Mykkele Thompson suffering a torn Achilles. However, he did not do enough to impress during his brief time back in New York.
