The Indianapolis Colts are one of the best teams in the NFL right now. Peyton Manning will retire soon; at the most he has five years left.
What will happen to the Colts when Peyton retires?
I think when Manning retires the Colts will go from the best to the worst team in the NFL.
Peyton Manning will have almost every single statistical record for a quarterback when he retires.
Obviously, Manning's retirement will be a bad thing for the Colts. Curtis Painter can't lead the offense; we saw how he performed against the Jets and Bills.
The only solution is they must draft a quarterback in the next few years.
If the Colts were smart, they would have drafted Jimmy Clausen at No. 31. He would be a great back-up to Peyton for a few years—and could learn a lot from one of the sport's greatest quarterbacks of all time. For option two, the Colts could get immediate help and sign a veteran free agent quarterback.
