Todd Bowles Returns to Jets After Being Hospitalized with Undisclosed Illness

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles was admitted to a hospital Friday afternoon. He was diagnosed with an undisclosed illness and was in stable condition, according to the team website.
The Jets announced Saturday morning that Bowles arrived at the team hotel and will be with the team at Gillette Stadium for its game against the New England Patriots. They later announced Bowles would coach from the sidelines. 
On Friday, the Jets revealed assistant head coach Mike Caldwell would lead the team if Bowles could not.
Caldwell has been part of Bowles' staff since he took over as New York's head coach in 2015. The pair worked together for two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals in 2013 and 2014.
Bowles had a successful debut season with the Jets last year. He led the team to a 10-6 record, its first season with double-digit wins since 2010, but New York missed out on the postseason after a Week 17 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
