Under The Radar: Lions Might Be a Sleeper In 2010

The Detroit Lions have made some big improvements to the roster this off season and they have been flying under the radar the entire time.
Conventional wisdom says that you cannot build a winning team through free agency, but the Lions are not a conventional team.
When you only win two-games in two seasons, you have to do anything you can possibly do to accumulate talent, and the Lions have without a doubt, upgraded their talent level.
It all started with the trade for defensive tackle Corey Williams, who came over from the Cleveland Browns, just hours before the start of free agency. It was a good pickup, but more importantly they didn't have to overspend to get him (they surrendered a fifth-round draft choice.)
Then once the free agency period began, head coach Jim Schwratz, was on the doorstep of defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosh's Tennessee home at 12:01. They drank wine all night and by morning had worked out a four-year deal.
