Waiting on Brett Favre: What Will the Minnesota Vikings Do?

The Vikings are giving Brett Favre something that he hasn't been given for over six years: time to think about his future.
After being pushed into early retirement several times, the Vikings are playing the waiting game with Favre. The only difference between this game and the one he played with Green Bay for so many off-seasons is that the Vikings are willing to wait it out, even if it takes until August again.
I must admit, I was surprised by Favre's performance this season. He went far above and beyond expectations. He was embraced by the Vikings organization to a degree that hasn't been seen for a long time.
Vikings fans have actually rented billboards near Favre's hometown in Mississippi and adorned them with slogans saying, "Please come back Brett."
