In the aftermath of the stunning trade for Donovan McNabb, one thing is clear about the Washington Redskins. The Skins are not chalking up 2010 as a rebuilding year; they are looking to win NOW.
In the beginning, no one thought there was a real chance of the Redskins trading for McNabb, despite their desire to replace Jason Campbell. But when the possibility became a reality, the Redskins jumped at the chance to get a proven star in McNabb.
So what does this all mean for 2010?
For one, you can forget about the Redskins drafting a quarterback. The Redskins' fourth pick will almost certainly be used on a left tackle now, making the Russell Okung faction of Redskins fans very happy.
Another good possibility is that Jason Campbell will now be traded, to the likely destinations of either Oakland or Buffalo. It will probably happen for a second-round pick, which would replace the one lost in the trade for McNabb.
