What Type of Defense Would Work Best For Cincinnati Bengals?

Prior to last season I made the statement that the Bengals should switch to a 3-4 base defense. My argument was that they had more depth and talent at linebacker so it would be more affective in the pass rush.
In years past, the Bengals pass rush has been nonexistent, which was partially the reason they have never been a dominating team.
They were inconsistent, and their strong point used to be turnovers.
Last season, the Bengals proved me wrong by staying in their base 4-3 defense and prevailing against every team they faced in the AFC North. They stopped the run efficiently and put pressure on the quarterback.
In fact, the they were ranked fourth in the league for total defense. This earned respect for a team that hasn't seen great defense in a while.
