Who Is Aaron Hernandez?

The career of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has taken a drastic turn for the worse over the past week. 
Currently, conflicting reports exist on the immediate future of a murder investigation that involves Hernandez.
According to CBS Boston, police have issued an arrest warrant for the fourth-year tight end in connection with the homicide of a local man. Hernandez will initially be charged with obstruction of justice in the ongoing investigation. 
However, The Boston Globe has since refuted that report, citing a source who has been briefed on the investigation. The article states that no arrests or warrants have been issued thus far. 
Once a rising star for the Patriots, Hernandez now faces uncertainty about his future football career.
His story, at least so far, begins and ends in the New England area.
