Why Super Bowl 50 Didn’t Live Up to the Hype

When Super Bowl 50 concluded, the majority of the people I was watching with—mostly neutral NFL fans—had a bad taste in their mouth. 
Sure, Denver's defense was a joy to watch, and it dominated. There's nothing wrong with a defensive slugfest. But so many other parts of this game were forgettable.
If you're an NFL fan who couldn't quite figure why you didn't enjoy Super Bowl 50, here's your guide. 
Note that I only included what happened during the game. So you'll have to look elsewhere for thoughts on Coldplay or Cam Newton's postgame antics.
 
Peyton Manning Had Virtually Nothing to Do with Denver's Win
Full disclosure: I was rooting for Peyton Manning to win this game. Actually, I was rooting for Manning to be the reason Denver won this game knowing full well that would be unlikely. 
Many fans with no emotional tie to either team probably felt similarly.
