Why The Birds Won’t Be a First Place Contender In 2010

The Philadelphia Eagles will come into 2010 with a bad taste in their mouths.
Why?
Because the hated Cowboys destroyed them in each of their final two match-ups of last year.
You better believe that every player on that team (and everyone in the city of brotherly love) is anxious to get that bad taste out of their mouths.
Perhaps they will.
But they won't do it by finishing in first.
Shocking! The ever optimistic writer is dissing his favorite team!
Nah, not really. It's just a fact of life.
There are 24 hours in a day. There is life on Earth. The Eagles will not finish first in 2010.
I've been one of the people who has been rooting for Kevin Kolb to become the starter.
I got my wish.
But it's kind of obvious that Kolb isn't going to lead the team to glory in his first full year as a starter. Possibly, but it's very unlikely.
We all know that.
So I think that I'll stop trying to be John Madden here and give you the point....
