Let's be honest, in the seventh round, you're just hoping to get lucky.
And since the Bears need a lot of help on the offensive line, why not try and get lucky with an offensive lineman?
He's a big guy, standing at 6'3" and weighing a svelte 338 pounds.
He was an honorable mention to the All-Big 12 team in 2009, which is saying something considering the talent in the Big 12.
He has experience starting at both left and right guard and has also started at center.  That kind of flexibility is  very useful for an offensive line that struggled at all positions last season.
Heck, maybe he could even learn to play tackle, and be a great replacement player for any injured teammates. 
Or, perhaps the Bears get lucky and strike gold with him, and he turns out to be a Pro Bowl lineman.
Likely? No. But, definitely worth a shot.
